Projects
Hurtwood
Polo Masters 2008
Hurtwood Park Polo Club wanted to recreate Amika nightclub as part of their Polo Masters 2008 celebrations. NKN were invited by Hurtwood to realize this vision and so what started out as a plot of grass in a muddy field was soon to be transformed.
Working to a tight deadline NKN conceived and made happen this entire event. The concept centred around a modular tent structure which was fitted with catering facilities, bars, staff, an outdoor dining terrace and a fully functioning Amika club complete with designer furniture, lighting, theme/branding, solid timber flooring, Funktion One sound system and DJ booth. Daytime the space was used as lounge bar with buffet at night it would transform into a club.
The design and implementation of this project illustrates the high level of creative skill, technical expertise and project management of which NKN are capable.
Paper Club
Venue Build
NKN have been responsible for numerous refits of this prestigious West End nightclub. Innovative technical expertise and solid project management have enabled NKN to work closely with Paper Club in order to implement state-of the-art solutions for both sound and lighting.
The conception and implementation of a technically flexible solution has included the construction of a custom built DJ booth, installation of an entire Funktion One sound system, installation of projection screens and unrivalled audio/visual matrix allowing complete flexible media interaction all resulting in a world class nightclub experience.
Niemerko
The wedding of James and Samantha Colins
NKN were invited by Niemerko in order to realize this challenging design brief. The ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire was to be given two completely different themes on the wedding day with only a 20 minute change over.
For the first look the ballroom was dressed for dinner complete with an elegant and sophisticated décor, delicate colouring, exquisite flower arrangements and an emphasis on table settings. The change transformed the ballroom from fine dining to prestigious West End nightclub, dining tables, delicate colouring and flowers made way for an LED dance floor, lounge furniture and dramatic lighting - the party rocked until late.
NKN were invited back by professional footballer James and his wife Samantha to manage their joint Birthday party at the Soho Hotel London.
Nick – CV
Nick’s passion for sound and light started from a very early age when he was introduced to theatre production at school, from there he progressed to college where he studied to become a theatre electrician.
His professional career started working as a lighting technician rigging lights on projects a small as a pub right through to working within a team wiring stadiums and in this way gaining valuable grass roots experience. Moving to Denmark he continued working in the live music scene and also found a vocation in the installation of THX cinema systems which included seating, screen, sound and projections.
On his return to London Nick rapidly progressed from House Technician at The Café de Paris to Technical Manager. Nick was headhunted for the position of Lighting Designer and subsequently spent two years with the Black Eyed Peas on both Elephunk and Monkey Business World tours.
After two long years on the road and thousands of air miles racked up Nick was itching to settle back home in London where he recruited by Paper Club as their Technical Manager.
Over the years Nick has had the pleasure to have been involved with the following events:
Guns N’ Roses
Metallica

Nimar’s cv
Nimar has been involved with live productions for almost as long as he can remember - gigging at 11 starting with the school big band, his father was a DJ and musician and was very much his inspiration. His passion for the guitar took Nimar in and out of loads of bands whilst juggling studies managing to get qualifications in both civil and sound engineering.
Nimar’s first professional experience started whilst working for his brother’s company, Fruit Pie Music Agency where after some time they started Fruit Pie Music Productions as partners. Together they toured the world for a mammoth 15 years filling many passports and working with a hat full of bands.
This invaluable experience enabled Nimar to learn tour production from the ground upwards initially working as a Backline Technician before progressing to Tour Management. The highlight of this immense period was working with the Black Eyed Peas just at the time band broke, where he rode the crest of the wave together through the Elephunk and Monkey Business world tours.
Settling back in London Nimar took up cabinet making as a hobby quickly adapting his new skills in making bespoke pieces for bands, this year alone completing work for both Coldplay and Razorlight. Nimar exchanged touring with bands for making and servicing their equipment in his personal workshop but still occasionally gets the itch and dips in to cover for Razorlight and Feeder as a guitar technician.
Just a few of the many acts Nimar has toured with:
Feeder
Razorlight
Brand New Heavies
Tom Jones
Groove Armada
Black Eyed Peas
Robbie Williams
Bon Jovi

U2
REM
Sheryl Crow
